Business Professionals, job search, recruiting
I attended the Construction Conference hosted by the North Bay Business Journal yesterday. I learned that we added approximately 400,000 jobs in CA in 2011 and there are plans to add a projection of an additional 500,000 jobs over the next few years. CA is thriving in tourism, technology and trade. CA’s population consists mainly of baby boomers and Gen X & Y. No need to build single- family homes for the next 20 years due to the surplus of housing during the construction boom and recent foreclosures. GAPS – skilled professionals due to baby boomers retiring over the next 10-20 yrs. They estimate the underground economy at $150B which is a loss to CA. It’s in the trillions for the entire U.S.
